Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance & Tooling Technician in Elkhart, Indiana to support our plastic injection molding operations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining stable production through tooling changeovers, mechanical troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and committed to producing high-quality parts while ensuring equipment reliability and uptime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting on plastic injection molding machines, molds, and auxiliary equipment
  • Execute mold and tooling changeovers, machine setup, and mechanical adjustments to meet production schedules
  • Diagnose and resolve processes, tooling, and mechanical issues impacting part quality and equipment uptime
  • Conduct preventive and routine maintenance on molding presses, molds, and support equipment
  • Inspect, clean, lubricate, and maintain molds before, during, and after production runs
  • Support production startups by verifying stable cycles and partnering with Quality to confirm part conformity
  • Identify tooling wear or potential failure risks and communicate corrective action recommendations to leadership
  • Safely operate cranes, hoists, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment as required
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
