Maintenance Planner

Franklin, OH

 

Compensation Includes

  • Starting Pay Rate of $35 - $40/hour 

Overview

In this role you will work with the Maintenance Manager and be responsible for planning Asset care events and activities to ensure most efficient use of resources and readiness to maintain proper equipment condition. You will also ensure all necessary materials are available to support supplied schedules across the plant, including paper, ink, tooling and shippers. Will work with the Plant Scheduler to keep schedules current and optimized for efficiency. Will advise the Production Manager of any material shortages and will work with the Forming Department to order shippers needed to support planned production.

 

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize SAP to ensure all materials are available for scheduled production orders
  • Work with the Inventory Control Clerk to reconcile any discrepancies with material inventories and with the Plant Scheduler to ensure orders are sequenced efficiently
  • Conducts daily Gemba walks as necessary throughout the day to verify order status and work with the Plant Scheduler and Production Manager to adjust schedules as necessary
  • Monitor status of blank and preprint orders and advise on delays or shortages
  • Monitor shipper inventories and order shippers as necessary to ensure availability but limit unnecessary overflow of inventory
  • Will work with Plant Leadership to continuously improve order and inventory management and increased efficiencies
  • Assemble work kit for each of the organized maintenance tasks
  • Responsible for initial screening of incoming work orders, identification of scope and analysis of required planning
  • Work with Procurement support to ensure readiness of parts and equipment
  • Assigns resources and tasks to balance workflow and skill sets
  • Works under direction and leadership of the Plant Maintenance Manager
  • Preserve and monitor accounts, orders, and contractor responsibilities
  • Order materials and stocks to make sure tasks get completed
  • Provide technical recommendations and implementation for continuous improvement in plant reliability practices
  • Able to read and interpret vendor manuals and drawings
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively with shop floor personnel, vendors, supplies and management personnel
  • Ability to perform some level of cost analysis and work within a structured budget
  • As assigned works on work orders to identify improvement opportunities based upon analyzing histories data and usage through CMMS system. Continually modifies and upgrades PM plans to reduce or eliminate breakdowns as a result
  • Ability to write detailed repair reports
  • Able to develop and deliver a clear and concise presentation when required
  • Fully understands Novolex Reliability philosophies and need for structure, definitions and RC solutioning for improvement
  • Supports and performs other tasks and items as needed

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED; Associate's degree from a college or technical school preferred
  • 2-5+ years of experience in a related field preferred
  • Experience in an industrial and/or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
  • Ability to flex work schedule on occasion if needed to support business needs
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screen
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation
  • Prior experience as a maintenance planner preferred

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

 

This position will be working in both an office and manufacturing environment. Tasks will be primarily administrative in nature but will require walking and standing multiple hours per day.
