Mainframe Storage Administrator

Our client, a IT Services and Consulting company, is looking for a Mainframe Storage Administrator for their Remote location.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the replication using tools like CSM, DSCLI.
• IBM Utilities such as IDCAMS, ISMF, Dcollect
• Support Disaster Recovery within Mainframe environment
• Administer DFSMS (ACS routines, storage groups/classes), DFSMShsm (HSM policies, space management, migration/recall), and Catalog/ICF management (IDCAMS).
• Partner with backup/recovery teams on policy, FlashCopy/Snap, DR readiness, and test execution.
• Handle any hardware/software related MLC and code load update on both Tape and DASD systems.
• Perform Data Recovery for Tape and DASD
• Effectively collaborate with cross-functional technical teams, DRaaS Coordinators, clients, and vendors, while regularly updating managers on Drill status
• Provide training, technical guidance, and mentoring to junior team members.

Requirements:

• DASD Management (z/OS, SMS, DFSMS, DFHSM)
• Tape Management Systems (DFSMSrmm, CA 1, TLMS)
• Storage Hardware & Virtualization (IBM DS8K, TS7700, FICON)
• 8+ year experience in managing Mainframe Storage Systems which includes both Tape and DASD systems
• Extensive experience of Mainframe Storage which includes work experience with DASD and VTS/Grid - IBM (DS8k's, TS7k's),
• Tape management systems - IBM RRM, OAM
• Virtual tape solutions and management
• Global Mirror with Practice, Global Copy, FDR Software, ACS Routines
• Demonstrate strong communication, documentation, coordination, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as within a team.
