Mainframe Dev & Deployment Tools Engineer

Kforce has a client in Chandler, AZ that is seeking an experienced Mainframe Dev & Deployment Tools Engineer to support and enhance development and release processes within a large enterprise mainframe environment. This role focuses on managing and optimizing the development toolchain, build processes, and deployment workflows for mainframe applications. As a Mainframe Dev & Deployment Tools Engineer, you will play a key role in improving delivery speed, consistency, and reliability across development, testing, and production environments.

What You'll Do:

• Manage and support mainframe development and deployment toolchains
• Administer and maintain tools such as Endevor, ChangeMan, ISPW, or similar
• Design, implement, and support build and deployment automation processes
• Coordinate and support application releases and code promotions across environments (DEV/QA/UAT/PROD)
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to build failures, deployments, and environment inconsistencies
• Develop automation using JCL, REXX, CLIST, or scripting tools
• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure smooth deployments and releases
• Improve and standardize release management processes and workflows
• Support integration of mainframe development processes with modern DevOps and CI/CD practices
• Maintain documentation including runbooks, deployment procedures, and environment configurations
