Job Title: Machinist
Location: Turtle Creek, PA

Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $52000 annually

Machinist

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our production team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating manual and CNC machine tools to produce precision parts according to customer specifications and blueprints. This role requires attention to detail, technical proficiency, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate conventional and CNC machine tools including lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining operations and sequences
  • Select appropriate tools, materials, and machining methods for each job
  • Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other measuring instruments
  • Monitor machining operations to ensure parts meet quality standards and tolerances
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines and tooling
  • Inspect finished parts for defects and ensure conformance to specifications
  • Make adjustments to machine settings as needed to maintain accuracy
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Document production activities and maintain accurate records
  • Collaborate with team members and management to improve processes and efficiency

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Machinist in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings
  • Hands-on experience with manual machining equipment (lathes, mills, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of precision measuring instruments
  • Understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Good mathematical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CNC programming and operation
  • Vocational or technical training in machining
  • Experience in custom or job shop manufacturing
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software
  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
