Position Details: Duration: 11 weeks (420 hours) Hours: 7am to 3:30pm Pay Rate - $20 - $27 per hour What to Expect: Job Overview: The machinist programs, sets up, and runs all equipment in the manufacture and reworks of mechanical components. Candidate should have a working knowledge of CNC machine operation including maintenance and the ability to diagnose minor mechanical issues with the equipment/fixturing. Candidate should possess shop math skills including calculating proper feed and speed for materials, metric conversions, interpreting blueprints, and geometric tolerances. Candidate must be capable of holding tolerance and meeting surface finish requirements. Qualifications for Success: Machinist Job Requirements: A high school diploma or GED is required 2 years of experience with CNC equipment or a 2-year degree Prior experience reading drawings and/or blueprints is required Computer literacy-knowledgeable/competent in CAD/CAM, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel is a plus Programming experience is a plus Experience operating lathes, milling machines and ONC grinders is a plus. Ability to use protective equipment, including safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, face mask/covering where required, and other protective clothing based on job assignments/duties Reliable and punctual Ability to occasionally lift 50 lbs. will be necessary Skills: Work on all types of machine shop equipment Setup, operation, and maintenance of CNC equipment Operate assigned equipment safely and efficiently Understanding of machining processes. Use precision measuring tools as necessary to verify the quality of parts manufactured Use the necessary measuring devices to ensure parts are adhering to customer requirements Multitasking whenever possible including operating more than one machine at a time Follow directions and work with little supervision Ability to get along with others Pay attention to details and documentation Maintain a clean workplace and observe safety rules and practices Adhere to deadlines and be flexible #IND-1 Datrose is an equal opportunity employer.
