Location: Fenton, MO

Reports To: Production Supervisor - Machine Shop

Classification: Hourly - Non-Exempt

Schedule: 2nd Shift: 3:15PM-1:15AM Monday-Thursday

What You''ll Do

As a CNC Setup/Operator, you''ll be responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and producing precision-machined components while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform complete machine setups with minimal supervision
  • Set up, operate, adjust, and troubleshoot CNC lathes
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and setup documentation
  • Work with G-Code and M-Code programming
  • Set tooling, offsets, speeds, and feeds
  • Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment
  • Make tool wear adjustments and minor program edits
  • Troubleshoot machining and quality issues
  • Complete production documentation accurately
  • Help train and support less experienced operators
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment

What We''re Looking For

We''re looking for machinists who enjoy precision work and have the experience to hit the ground running.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of CNC lathe setup experience
  • Experience performing complete setups on one or more of the following:
  • Haas
  • Ganesh
  • Index
  • Okuma
  • Citizen Swiss Lathes
  • Strong blueprint reading skills
  • Working knowledge of G-Code and M-Code
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining exceptional quality standards

Preferred Experience

  • Swiss-style CNC lathe experience
  • Experience with multiple CNC machine brands
  • Minor program editing and process optimization
  • Mentoring or training other machinists
  • Continuous improvement mindset with strong attention to detail

Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 35 pounds regularly
  • Stand for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Perform repetitive bending, reaching, and lifting
  • Wear required PPE including safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, and hearing protection
