The Machinist is an advanced-level role responsible for servicing and repairing equipment independently and in teams.
Examples include boring, facing, milling, tapping, burning, and welding. The candidate must operate portable line boring, CNC, mill, and lathe machines, completing extensive training.
Key duties involve planning and performing repairs using proper tools, machining and welding major components like engines and transmissions, modifying parts per blueprints, and programming and setting up machines, including CNC mills.
They will also order parts, utilize service information systems, and mentor less experienced machinists.
Qualifications include a high school diploma, at least one year of machining/welding experience or relevant training, and proficiency with diagnostic equipment, computers, and basic typing.
Preferred skills include troubleshooting, customer service, mechanical, technical, problem-solving, communication, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
