Your mission
Turn complex prints into consistent parts. As the machining and tooling operations specialist, you orchestrate multiple machines, sharpen and stage tooling, and verify quality at every step—so production keeps moving and standards stay high.
Imagine this scenario
First hour: you sharpen tooling, complete a CNC changeover, and load the hopper. Mid-shift: you spot a dimensional drift, adjust the machine, and re-verify with precision gauges. End of day: you finalize labor and scrap reports in ERP, transfer finished goods with a lift truck, and 5S the cell—ready for the next run.
Key responsibilities
- Operate several machines at once; tune settings to maintain output and quality.
- Set up and sharpen tooling; execute machine setups for production runs.
- Feed parts manually or with a hopper dumper to sustain throughput.
- Perform inspections against blueprints using precision measurement tools.
- Package finished goods and move materials/scrap using a lift truck.
- Complete ERP transactions and required paperwork (labor and scrap reports).
- Communicate priorities, progress, and issues to the group leader.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area aligned to 5S and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to investment casting/foundry operations when needed.
- Other related duties as assigned.
What you bring
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Machine operator background; 1 year of related experience preferred.
- Ability to multitask across machines without sacrificing precision.
- Solid reading and math skills; clear communication in a team setting.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and ERP workflows.
- Hands-on proficiency with hand tools, precision instruments, and forklifts.
- Experience with CNC setup/changeover and exposure to foundry operations.
Physical requirements
- Lift up to 50 lbs safely and routinely.
- Frequent bending and stooping.
- Stand and walk for 8+ hours; cover long distances during the shift.
- Climb step stools and small ladders as work requires.
Safety-sensitive work
*This position is a safety-sensitive position. The position requires operating or working around heavy equipment, which if performed while under the influence of drugs (including marijuana) or alcohol could result in errors in judgment, inattentiveness or diminished coordination, dexterity or composure that could in turn result in mistakes that would endanger the health and safety of you and others.
Core proficiencies
- Troubleshooting Skills
- Heavy Material Handling
- Investment Casting (Foundry Operations)
- CNC Machine Setup & Changeover
- Machine Setups for Production Runs
