Shift 2: $18.50/Hr., 4PM - 12:30AM, 3 Months Contract to FTE ($19.62/Hr and Increment for 6 Months)
Responsible for operating punch, shear, and brake machines to fabricate custom metal parts in accordance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and production schedules. This role supports efficient manufacturing through accurate machine setup, material handling, inspection, and adherence to safety requirements. Position is 2nd shift; training may occur on 1st or 2nd shift based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, program, test, and adjust machines to shear, pierce, bend, and form materials.
- Operate punch presses, shear machines, press brakes, and related equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints and work orders to produce parts to specification.
- Install, align, and secure punches, dies, fixtures, and tooling.
- Load, position, and secure materials; interface with industrial robots if applicable.
- Inspect and measure parts using calipers, tape measures, squares, ensuring quality compliance.
- Handle materials (steel, aluminum, copper, galvanized steel), stack finished parts, and manage scrap.
- Perform basic maintenance, cleaning, and safe operation of equipment; operate forklifts/material handling equipment as required.
- Follow safety, quality, and housekeeping standards; support team objectives.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 6 months fabrication experience (forming and punching).
- CNC Programming preferred.
- Basic shop math, computer skills, and proficiency with mechanical/measuring tools.
- Ability to read/write/speak English; lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive physical tasks
