Machine Operator I – Columbus, NE

Pay Rate: $20.00/hour
Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Location: Columbus, NE (Onsite)
Employment Type: Contract
Pre-employment Requirement: Drug test required



Position Summary

The Machine Operator I is responsible for performing routine production operations in a manufacturing environment under direct supervision. This includes tasks such as filling, packaging, assembling, labeling, inspecting, and operating production equipment. The role requires strict adherence to FDA regulations, GMP standards, and ISO9000 requirements while supporting team production goals.



Key Responsibilities
  • Perform production tasks including filling, packing, packaging, labeling, and assembly
  • Operate and monitor manufacturing equipment to meet production and quality targets
  • Conduct visual inspections and perform designated quality checks
  • Complete basic troubleshooting and assist with equipment changeovers, line clearance, and cleaning
  • Maintain continuous equipment operation, including during breaks when required
  • Handle raw materials and finished goods movement within the facility
  • Maintain cleanroom standards, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work areas
  • Accurately complete SAP and MES data entries and production documentation
  • Use measurement tools such as microscopes (10x), calipers, and gauges as needed
  • Support rework processes and participate in continuous improvement (blitz teams)
  • Assist with root cause analysis (BDA process) when issues arise
  • Cross-train across departmental functions as needed
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and GMP standards
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment to meet production goals and reduce downtime
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment


Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous manufacturing or production experience is a plus

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and work instructions
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
