Machine Operator I – Night Shift (D Shift)
Location: Columbus, NE
Pay Rate: $22.70/hr ($20.00 base + $2.70 shift differential)
Schedule: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM, alternating days
Overtime: Weekend overtime required as needed



Position Summary

The Machine Operator I is responsible for safely operating production equipment to manufacture high-quality products in accordance with company standards and documentation. This role includes performing quality checks, equipment changeovers, basic troubleshooting, and data entry while maintaining compliance with safety and quality regulations.



Key Responsibilities
  • Operate manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently
  • Perform visual inspections and quality checks on products
  • Conduct basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime
  • Complete equipment changeovers, line clearance, and cleaning
  • Meet production and quality targets on assigned lines
  • Maintain continuous equipment operation, including during breaks
  • Perform rework as needed
  • Accurately enter production data into SAP and MES systems
  • Use measurement tools such as microscopes, calipers, and gauges
  • Follow all GMP, FDA, and ISO standards
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including cleanroom areas
  • Support team operations, including cross-training and collaboration
  • Assist in identifying root causes and improving processes
  • Participate in team initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
  • Complete all required documentation and training
  • Perform additional duties as assigned


Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED not required (preferred)
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred
  • Experience with SAP or MES systems is a plus
  • Familiarity with precision measuring instruments preferred

  • Ability to read, write, and understand English instructions and specifications
  • Basic math skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Willingness to learn and train others
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality


Work Environment & Requirements
  • Must be flexible to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  • Ability to rotate between tasks and responsibilities
  • Works under general supervision in a production environment

  • Manufacturing experience is strongly preferred
