Machine Operator

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral,or diagram form.

Physical Demands

• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
• The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and talk or hear.
• The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Visually inspects product for defects.
• Ensure that a quality product is produced.
• Purges machine on startup and as needed thereafter.
• Uses pulling motion to remove product from core.
• Wipe core with silicone (do not overuse silicone on cores)
• Places steel shank, toecap and plates in accordance with product specifications.
• Stretches sock liner over core in accordance with product specifications.
• Uses pliers to remove sprue(s) from sole plates.
• Manually tears excess material off product as necessary.
• Racks or tables product (by size if instructed).
• Adjustments to equipment (molds, micro switches, injection machine,
• Troubleshoots mechanical and/or technical problems and makes minor.
• Assists in mold changes.
