Machine Operator (Maintenance & Production)

Location: Detroit, MI 48209

Pay: $22.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (Enjoy your evenings and weekends!)

Why Join Our Team?

Are you a mechanical problem-solver who enjoys variety in your workday? We are looking for a skilled Machine Operator who wants to do more than just push buttons. In this role, you aren’t just an operator; you are a vital part of our Maintenance Department, responsible for the heartbeat of our liquid filling production line and the integrity of our entire facility.

The Day-to-Day

  • Take Ownership of the Line: Set up, sanitize, and prime the liquid filling line, configuring settings for maximum efficiency.
  • Master the Machinery: Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on high-tech equipment, including ink-jet printers, heat tunnels, and conveyors.
  • Quality is Key: Conduct weight checks and seal integrity inspections to ensure every product leaving our dock is perfect.
  • Keep Us Moving: Clear jams, manage tooling changeovers for different bottle sizes, and ensure the warehouse racking and dock doors are in top shape.
  • Be the Expert: Use your mechanical knowledge to identify safety hazards, coordinate with outside contractors, and even procure parts from local vendors.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in machine operation and maintenance within a production or warehouse setting.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Technical Savvy: You understand mechanical alignments and sensors; basic Microsoft Office or WMS experience is a plus.
  • License & Tools: You must have a valid driver’s license and your own vehicle for local part runs.
  • Certifications: You are ready to pass an internal forklift test within your first 30 days.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand/walk for your shift and lift a minimum of 20 lbs.

The Perks of the Role

  • Stable Schedule: Standard daytime hours with flexibility when the job demands it.
  • Professional Growth: Work directly with the Facilities Manager in a role that values your judgment and ability to improve systems.
  • Dynamic Environment: From 5S standards to secondary contract packaging, you’ll be immersed in industry-leading practices.
