Job Responsibilities
  • Build Mechanical sub-assemblies, final assemblies, Testing Machines, and any other Mechanical task for the job. (Other Automotive Integration)
  • Complete as required in process QC check sheets.
  • Complete as required QC audits.
  • Assure good craftsmanship on jobs that are being built.
  • Follow good housekeeping practices.
  • Take direction from Leader and/or Supervisor
  • Provide feedback on job status to Mechanical Assembly Leader.
  • Know and understand due dates for jobs and schedule work accordingly.
  • Follow-up with supervisor on daily basis to report progress of job(s) being worked on.
  • Assist in disassembly, packing and loading of machines for shipment.
  • Fill-in where required for absences.
  • Order material and follow-up with receiving when required.
  • Assist in start-up/de-bug of equipment.
  • Recommend as appropriate work methods and/or materials that will improve existing designs.
  • Travel as needed to assist in installations, de-bug, tryout, or problem solving at customer locations.
  • Read and interpret build prints. Work with Mechanical Engineers and build Leaders to correct any problems with design of the machine/controls.
  • Recommend, initiate, and follow-up as needed on engineering changes and document according to ECO procedures.
  • Work on continuous improvement and special projects as needed.
  • Provide training and assistance to new employees.
Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma required
  • 4 years experience as a Machine Builder

Tool-maker Activities
• Able to determine assembly process from mechanical blueprints
• • Snap chalk lines and install floor plates
• • Install sealer equipment and camera stations
• • Install fence
• • Install upper cable tray
• • Install tooling
• • Install framing system
• • Install light screens and gate keys
• • Read mechanical blueprints and bill of material
• • Assembly units
• • Ability to drill, tap and ream holes
• • Able to use an optical level
• • Use of hand saw, drill press and grinders
• • Would cover these items during first few days OJT
