ASRC Federal Mission Solutions is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration, and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems. We are currently seeking highly motivated Software Engineering Supervisors with technical leadership to join our Aegis Combat Display team. This is a full-time position located in Moorestown, NJ.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Agile Product Owner with management oversight responsibilities on assigned capability development efforts - assigning developers to specific contracts and tasks and ensuring developers are working efficiently to deliver planned functionality on schedule and budget. Includes assignment of SWCRS in ClearQuest and JIRA
  • Oversee Agile ceremonies such as backlog grooming, standups, and retrospectives. Assists in creation and closure of Product features, epics and stories. Helps make work assignments and tracks them in JIRA and Clearquest.
  • As required, support customer meetings on behalf of the product owner.
  • Oversee development team adherence to software development processes and quality standards.   Ensures participation in both Engineering and Software ETRs.
  • Assist in identifying functional resource requirements (staffing, tools, lab, training, and other needs) and assist in acquisition and implementation.
  • Responsible for assisting in support of software development teams of 10-20 individuals.

Responsibilities may include:

  • May provide or assist in timecard approvals, assist in providing performance evaluation/reviews, career planning including setting expectations and priorities, and training development required for direct reports.
  • Assist in conducting staffing and manpower planning to support current and anticipated projects, including interviewing and hiring personnel as required. Monitors ETCs and assists in adjusting when required.
  • Assist in productivity and metrics collection. Assist product owners in defining, communication, and coordination of staffing priorities as well as funding requirements with the appropriate project leads.
  • Act as a stakeholder for programs ensuring product area is appropriately represented. Provide AFMS ADS support at PIT, SEIT, and IPT customer meetings for assigned programs. Supports L3I and provides feedback on issues being observed.
  • Provide support to Engineering Director/Senior Engineering Managers with various Engineering Organization leadership tasks. Monitor staff budgets/assignments to provide key information/recommendations to Senior Leadership Team
  • Maintain hands-on technical involvement as required to support development, integration, troubleshooting, and sustainment activities.
  • Collaborate closely with AFMS TD, AFMS PM, systems engineering and program leadership to ensure successful delivery of SWRs.
  • Helps collect QBD for monthly reporting, enters percent complete data in PM Compass, reviews and provided explanations for Monthly Variances
  • Assists in providing technical input to proposal efforts, including rough-order-of-magnitude estimates, task definition, and engineering assumptions. Reviews Statement of Work and updates to Work Authorization Directives.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree (Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or Physics, with technical management experience) or equivalent related work experience. Masters Preferred.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance; U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • This position requires the successful applicant to obtain and maintain the required security clearance or other authorization(s) within the necessary timeframe required by applicable contract(s).
  • 2-4 years of work-related experience is required. Team leadership experience is preferred.
  • Experience dealing with Government audits and auditors
  • Knowledge of Lockheed Martin Integrated Toolset (LMITS) including ClearCase/ClearQuest/STARSYS/DOORS/JAZZ or a similar Source Code Management System
  • Working knowledge of JIRA or similar Status Accounting and Tracking Systems
  • Working knowledge of AFMS Mgmt. tools including MIDAS / DELTEK / MARS / AIMS / Elevate.
  • Experience working in Agile Software Development Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Strong communication skills are needed to interface with internal stakeholders and high-level customer representatives.
