Description

Lyle/OMG Thermoformer Setup Specialist — Franklin Park, IL

Own the setup, changeover, and readiness of high-speed thermoforming operations.

Compensation, schedule, application

  • Pay: $30.00 – $36.00 per hour (DOE)
  • Shift: 7am–7pm, 2-2-3

What you will do

  • Execute minor and major changeovers on Lyle Thermoforming and OMG equipment.
  • Remove and load inserts offline in the tool shop and online at the line.
  • Create first-run parts that satisfy all Quality Department requirements (Green Time), then coordinate release to production with Quality and Supervision.
  • Perform basic extrusion operator duties to support inline changeovers and resolve process issues.
  • Repair forming molds and trim tooling; perform routine maintenance on thermoforming and labeling automation.
  • Troubleshoot with maintenance associates to restore production; adjust machines and notify the Maintenance Manager when advanced adjustments are needed.
  • Use micrometers, calipers, and related precision instruments for setup verification.
  • Read, interpret, and operate machine computer consoles; help train operators on control interfaces.
  • Track line performance, assist where OEE falls short, and keep accurate daily changeover records.
  • Document work, hours, and parts in the plant CMMS; maintain housekeeping standards.
  • Support production/packing tasks when needed; work effectively with limited supervision.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Completion of Set Up Technician Sr. Specialist training or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to operate independently.
  • Open to overtime and off-shift assignments as business requires.
