Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Under the general direction of the Practice Manager, Clinical Director, and Lead MD, this role serves as the clinic-level supervisor overseeing all nursing and clinical services. The supervisor is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care in alignment with the standards of the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians, while also managing key administrative functions that support daily operations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide direct patient care to a diverse patient population under the supervision of designated clinical staff, recognizing both routine and emergency conditions.

  • Oversee and coordinate clinic operations, including patient flow, staffing adjustments, and adherence to established workflows.

  • Supervise, train, and evaluate nursing staff, ensuring clinical competencies are maintained and professional standards are upheld.

  • Monitor and support quality assurance initiatives, including compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Manage clinical supply inventory and administrative processes to support efficient practice operations.

  • Review and approve staff timesheets, conduct performance evaluations, and maintain annual competency records.

  • Partner with the Ambulatory Nursing Team to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality patient care and optimal clinic performance.

Salary Range: $37.60-$78.35/hourly

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • CA LVN License with Intravenous Therapy and Blood withdrawal certification
  • Current BLS Card from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • 3+ years LVN experience
  • Ability to take vital signs, administer medications and obtain drug refills as needed
  • Ability to recognize abnormal laboratory values and report to the physician.
  • Knowledge of symptomatology of common and or life threatening medical problem
  • Interpersonal skills in maintaining a cooperative working environment with the physicians, staff, and all health providers
  • Performs phlebotomy, CPR, Injections, and other skills within scope of practice.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills, Windows computer function, computer navigation, and ability to use computerized patient care systems.
  • Knowledge of all safety requirements when handling biohazardous specimens or contaminated instruments.
  • Verbal skills to effectively convey sensitive information in a courteous manner in person or on the telephone.
  • Ability to lead a team with effective communication, collaboration and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other staff members, faculty, patients, nursing staff and others.
  • Team building and leadership skills, preferably to include prior supervisory experience

Highly desired:

  • Experience with varied computer hardware and software including word processing, spreadsheets and database programs and the UCLA Hospital EMR System.
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of all instruments and supplies to perform physical examinations and/or procedures
  • Bilingual in Spanish
