Qualifications:
  • Current and valid Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license (Required).
  • Work experience as an LVN (Pediatric experience is a plus).
  • Experience in telephone triage preferred.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful, fast-paced, high-volume situations.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.

Glendale Pediatrics (physician-owned private practice pediatrics office) is looking for a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join the team as a full-time Pediatric Triage Phone & Administrative Nurse. In this role, the LVN will be the first point of contact for parents and guardians seeking guidance and support for their children's health concerns.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess patient needs and symptoms via telephone using established triage protocols and guidelines.
  • Provide appropriate medical advice and guidance to parents/guardians, including home care instructions, and encourage them to seek medical care.
  • Schedule appointments or direct patients to emergency or urgent care as warranted.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with patients/families, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Follow standing order procedures as indicated by the practice.
  • Support patient and doctor needs for prior authorizations.
  • Referral coordination and scheduling.
  • Follow up on lab results, telemedicine, and/or in-office appointment scheduling.
  • Check and transcribe voicemails into phone note messages for callbacks.

  • Schedule is Monday-Friday, and hours may vary depending on patient care needs and demand.
  • Must be willing and able to commute daily to Glendale, CA.
