We're seeking experienced Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) to teach Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and Phlebotomy programs throughout the Rio Grande Valley.

No teaching certification or prior teaching experience is required. A complete curriculum, lesson plans, laboratory activities, and instructional resources are provided, allowing you to focus on mentoring students and sharing the practical skills you've developed throughout your healthcare career.

What You'll Do

• Deliver engaging classroom and hands-on laboratory instruction.
• Teach clinical skills such as vital signs, injections, infection control, specimen collection, and phlebotomy techniques.
• Prepare students for industry-recognized certifications and entry-level healthcare careers.
• Follow the provided curriculum and maintain basic classroom documentation.
• Mentor students by sharing practical knowledge, professionalism, and real-world healthcare experience.
• Foster a positive, supportive learning environment that promotes student success.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of recent clinical LVN experienceor1+ years of Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, or Patient Care Technician instructional experience.
• Active Texas LVN license required.
• Experience performing venipuncture and other routine clinical procedures preferred.
• Additional active certifications such as CMA, CCMA, RMA, NCMA, CPT, RPT, PBT, NCPT, CPCT/A, PCT, and/or NCPCT are a plus but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Teaching, mentoring, coaching, precepting, onboarding, or training experience is preferred but not required.
• Passion for helping students develop the knowledge, skills, and professionalism needed for successful healthcare careers.
• Ability to successfully complete FBI fingerprinting/background screening.

Location & Schedule

• Territory and campuses served: Palmview, Mission, San Juan, Weslaco, Edinburg, etc.
• Program(s) being taught: Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy
• Semester or year-long assignment options - starting August 2026
• Class schedule will be from Monday - Friday between 8:00am - 4:00pm
• Travel to more than one school campus per day may be required for coverage purposes

Compensation

• $83 - $92 per instructional session (based on experience)
• 1099 Independent Contractor
• Opportunities for multiple teaching assignments where available
