Overview:
The OS&D Regional Clerk - Level III is responsible for managing and resolving freight discrepancies throughout an assigned region, including overages, shortages, damages, refusals, and unidentified freight. This position serves as the primary OS&D resource for terminal personnel, ensuring timely resolution of freight exceptions while maintaining compliance with Oak Harbor policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and investigate all regional OS&D freight issues.
- Serve as the primary OS&D contact for assigned terminals.
- Maintain accurate OS&D manifests, reports, and freight records.
- Communicate with internal and external customers to resolve freight discrepancies.
- Train and support terminal personnel on OS&D procedures and best practices.
- Coordinate investigations involving shortages, damages, unidentified freight, salvage, disposal, inspections, and tracing activities.
- Conduct dock checks, quality control inspections, and monitor OS&D storage areas.
- Assist with hazardous materials procedures, inventory tracking, and compliance requirements.
- Utilize AS400 and other company systems to track, investigate, and resolve freight exceptions.
- Travel within the region as needed.
- Attend meetings, training sessions, and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Forklift certification recommended.
- 3-5 years of transportation experience required.
- 3-5 years of OS&D experience preferred.
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; AS400 experience preferred.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and investigative abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- High school diploma or GED required.
