Job Summary
The Department of English at Georgia College & State University invites applications for the position of Limited-Term Lecturer in English for the 2025-2026 academic year. The successful candidate will teach composition and Core introductory literature classes for the fall and spring semesters.
This is a non-tenure track faculty position, with a one-year appointment for the 10-month academic year. Applicants must submit a C.V., Cover Letter, and Unofficial Transcripts.
Responsibilities
Teaching Responsibilities:
Full-time instructional load in composition (5/5)
Teaching Responsibilities:
Full-time instructional load teaching in areas of expertise within the academic discipline.
Regular course meetings and instruction.
Mentoring Students.
Other teaching responsibilities:
Knowledge and ability to convey current philosophies, practices, and theories related to the academic discipline.
Faculty employees also contribute to the Georgia College core curriculum by teaching topical freshman (GC1Y) or sophomore seminar (GC2Y) courses. All Georgia College faculty share the responsibility of teaching our core curriculum and providing foundation courses for majors and non-majors alike. Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
A Masters degree in English or MFA degree in Creative Writing is required at time of appointment. A minimum of 18 graduate semester hours related to the discipline.
Must meet SACSCOC accreditation requirements stated in C.S. 3.7.1 (www.sacscoc.org (faculty credentials)).

Strong communication skills.

A terminal degree, Ph.D. or M.F.A., in the discipline taught at the time of the appointment is preferred.
