The Long Term Disability Sr. Ability Analyst, primarily investigates claims to determine if the insured person qualifies for LTD benefits and monitors claims for ongoing eligibility.

    The LTD Sr. Ability Analyst supports our mission of helping our customers rebuild their lives after an unexpected event or illness happens while following corporate claim standards, policies and procedures, and statutory, regulatory and ethics requirements.

    This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement.  Candidates who live near one of our office locations, will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.

    Start Date: 09/15/2026
    Length of Training: 6-8 weeks
    Training Hours: Core business hours M-F
    Work Hours After Training: 40 hours M-F; Hybrid

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
     •   Obtain information from the claimant, employer, and medical 
          provider(s) to make Long-Term Disability decisions. 
     •   Analyze medical and financial information to determine eligibility for 
          benefits.
     •   Provide exceptional customer service using professional written and 
          verbal communication skills.
     •   Maintain a dedication to meeting the expectations and requirements 
          of internal and external customers.
     •   Help to create a positive team environment that is inclusive to all 
          employees.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
     •   1+ years of experience providing quality customer service is required.
     •   1+ years of claims experience is a plus.
     •   Experience with medical terminology is a plus.
     •   Experience with THAA preferred.
     •   High School Diploma/GED is required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s 
         Degree is preferred.
     •   Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
     •   Exceptional problem-solving skills.
     •   Professional verbal and written communication skills.
     •   Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain a high-level of quality and 
         accuracy, while meeting productivity targets in a fast-paced 
         environment.
     •   Ability to thrive in a structured team environment.
     •   Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to navigate 
          multiple systems simultaneously.

    Training Requirements: As a condition of employment, you will be required to successfully complete a multi-week New Hire Training Course.
     

    Compensation

    The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

    $48,071 - $72,107
