    The hospital offers advanced cardiovascular care, including one of the largest open-heart programs in Florida. The American College of Cardiology has recognized UF Health Leesburg Hospital for its demonstrated expertise and commitment in treating patients with chest pain by awarding a Chest Pain Center Accreditation with Primary PCI and Resuscitation - its highest and best level of accreditation. The hospital also offers world-class orthopaedics, minimally invasive robotic-assisted surgery, lifesaving emergency care, stroke treatment, labor & delivery, and so much more.

    Under the direction of the unit director, charge nurse and registered nurse, the LPN is responsible for the care and safety of the patient.

    Responsibilities

    • Demonstrates clinical care that is safe, best outcome practice with all Core Measures compliant.
    • Documents care provision per departmental standards.
    • Demonstrates compliance with all HCAHPS behaviors to allow patients and families to have an excellent hospital experience.
    • Completes assigned work as scheduled in allotted time frame.
    • Engages in departmental/hospital committees, PI projects, educational offerings to peers, mentoring/precepting of new team members.
    • Attends daily huddles, general staff meetings, signs monthly unit based newsletter, completes all required competencies and mandatory education as assigned.
    • Seeks training, educational, certification and enhancement in area focus/specialty.
    • Demonstrates behavior standards that enhance positive interactions with physicians, peers, patients and family members.
    • Completes other duties as requested/assigned.
    • Facilitate patient flow by communication with physicians and coordinating with case management to facilitate discharges timely.

    Qualifications

    Education

    • Post High School Special Training
    • Completion and Proof of 30 hour Florida State Approved IV Course within 6 months of hire

    Licensure/Certification/Registration

    • Florida Practical Nurse
    • BLS

    Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required

    Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
