Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Orthopedic & Sports Medicine

Location: Berwyn, PA 19312

Assignment Type: Contract (Potential Temp-to-Perm)
Schedule: Variable Shifts | Monday Friday

  • Shifts scheduled between 6:45 AM 6:00 PM
  • Tuesday extended hours until 8:00 PM
  • Weekly schedules are released one week in advance.

Job Description

Penn Medicine is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join its busy Orthopedic & Sports Medicine specialty practice in Berwyn, PA. This is a contract opportunity with the potential for permanent employment based on performance and practice needs.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, or a Surgical specialty, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced ambulatory environment. EPIC EMR experience is preferred.


Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to orthopedic and sports medicine patients in an outpatient clinic.
  • Room patients, obtain vital signs, medical histories, and prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
  • Assist physicians with orthopedic and minor surgical procedures.
  • Perform wound care, dressing changes, splint and cast support, injections, and patient follow-up as appropriate.
  • Educate patients on post-operative care, medications, activity restrictions, and treatment plans.
  • Coordinate diagnostic testing, referrals, and follow-up appointments.
  • Document patient care accurately in EPIC EMR.
  • Communicate effectively with providers and multidisciplinary team members to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain compliance with infection control, safety, and Penn Medicine policies.

Requirements

  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent LPN experience in an ambulatory, outpatient, physician office, orthopedic, sports medicine, or surgical setting.
  • Orthopedic, Sports Medicine, or Surgical experience is highly preferred.
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a busy, fast-paced specialty practice.
  • Must be able to reliably commute to Berwyn, PA.
