Lower School Teaching Assistant - Siesta Key
 
The Out-of-Door Academy seeks a Lower School Teaching Assistant to join a forward-thinking school that values creativity, real-world application, and student-centered thinking.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Lower School - Siesta Key, the Lower School Teaching Assistant will be responsible for the following: 
  • Implement small group instruction, differentiating instruction as necessary.
  • Collect and maintain data on student academic progress.
  • Provide timely feedback to students, and collaborate with faculty to offer support in pursuit of each student.
  • Facilitate and design effective group/collaborative work and productive dialogue among students and teachers to enhance the program and student experience.
  • Assist the lead teacher in all aspects of day-to-day classroom activities.
  • Live the school’s mission and core values of respect, integrity, service, excellence, and responsibility.
Qualifications
The following experience, skills & knowledge are required and /or preferred:
  • Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree in elementary education preferred.
  • Teaching experience in PreK through 2nd grade preferred, ideally in an independent school setting.
  • A passion for learning and the ability to motivate and inspire students.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel and the Google drive platform.
  • A successful track record of working effectively with a wide range of constituencies including students, faculty, staff, and parents.
Compensation and Benefits 
This is a 10-month full-time exempt position available in August 2026. Compensation is highly competitive and commensurate with experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
