    POSITION OVERVIEW

    Firmament Solutions is seeking Low Voltage Field Service Technicians for a contract-to-hire pathway that leads to full-time W2 employment for qualified candidates.

    Technicians must be able to:

    • Work independently

    • Follow standardized systems

    • Communicate clearly

    • Own work from arrival through documentation and closeout

    This role is ideal for technicians who want long-term growth, not short-term gigs.


    CONTRACT-TO-HIRE PATHWAY (IMPORTANT)

    All technicians begin in a conditional contract status.

    To convert to full-time W2 employment, technicians must:

    • Successfully complete 120 service jobs

      • An 8-hour service day counts as 4 service jobs

    • Meet performance standards for:

      • On-time arrival

      • Documentation quality

      • Communication responsiveness

      • SLA compliance

    Most technicians complete this phase in 2–3 months.


    CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

    Technicians are responsible for full lifecycle execution, including:

    Field Execution

    • Review work orders and project specifications

    • Install, maintain, repair, and upgrade:

      • Structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, Cat7)

      • Fiber cabling and terminations

      • CCTV systems and NVRs

      • Access control systems

      • Intrusion and fire alarm systems

    • Build cable pathways (J-hooks, ladder rack, cable tray)

    • Terminate and label workstation outlets

    • Troubleshoot voice, data, fiber, and network equipment

    • Access network equipment using SSH / PuTTY when required

    Documentation (NON-NEGOTIABLE)

    • Complete daily job notes

    • Upload required before/after photos

    • Maintain service history and progress reports

    • Accurately record time, materials, and vehicle inspections

    • Close work orders in accordance with Firmament standards

    Communication

    • Communicate professionally with on-site contacts

    • Maintain real-time updates via company systems

    • Escalate issues early and clearly


    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    Required

    • CCTV: 3+ years

    • Structured Cabling: 3+ years

    • Low Voltage Field Service: 3+ years

    • Valid Driver’s License

    • Reliable personal vehicle (required for this role)

    Preferred

    • Access Control / Alarm Systems: 2+ years

    • Fire Alarm: 3+ years

    • Fiber cabling and termination experience

    • Familiarity with national building codes and standards

    • Experience with scissor or boom lifts


    PHYSICAL & SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to lift 50 lbs

    • Ability to climb a 12-ft ladder

    • Willingness to travel, including overnight assignments

    • Availability for nights, weekends, and overtime as required

    • On-the-road field position


    COMPENSATION

    • Hourly Pay: $26.00 – $35.00 (based on experience)

    • Expected Hours: 32–50 per week

    • Overtime eligible

    • Bonus opportunities
