Job Description:

Seeking a Lead Looker BI Developer with expertise in database technologies and experienced in analyzing large sets of system's data. Experienced with structured query language (SQL) and BI tools. Must be knowledgeable on appropriate LookMLs to use and comfortable in making decisions to resolve problems or challenges within the systems or data tracking. This person will be the team lead and develop close working relationships with key IT and business function partners including Accounting, B2B, eCommerce, and Warehouse partners

Responsibilities:
  • Experience in database technologies and working with large sets of data, especially Snowflake
  • Ability to brainstorm Looker solutions to recommend appropriate analytics or KPIs
  • Knowledgeable on appropriate Lookers to use, including dimensions, measures, derived tables, etc.
  • Experience with PDTs, filters, custom formatting, and derived tables
  • Able to analyze data via SQL queries to assess structure, granularity, quality and fit for analytics review
  • Unit testing via SQL Runner for data validation of expected result
  • Able to decision make and resolve problems with inconsistencies (non-unique primary keys)
  • Methodology selection based on query/report performance (A/B testing, SQL principles)
  • Able to improve data availability (cache queries, persist tables, combination solutions)
  • Understand and access code quality and resolution of validation errors and warnings
  • Knowledge of LookML best practices for coding
  • Serve as a thought leader and trusted business partner while collaborating with key business functions to define new or develop processes and reports
  • Act as liaison for Natural Life and primary point of contact with our BI vendors and other 3rd party systems or applications.
  • Stay abreast to changes in the technology landscape for the current BI systems and competing technologies to ensure Natural Life is secure, stable, and scalable as we continue to grow
  • Provide timely, hands-on customer support to end-users with instruction and problem resolution
  • Ensure that there is a qualified back-up in place for core responsibilities as part of Business Continuity Planning

Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or relevant field required
  • 2+ years of LookML and Looker specific experience
  • 2+ years e-Commerce experience, preferably with B2B exposure
  • Experience with API's and system integration methodology
  • Financial management experience including budgeting/forecasting/reporting
  • Experience with Oracle, SAP, MS Dynamics, NetSuite, or another Enterprise ERP a plus
