Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour

Summary:

  • Work as part of the logistics team to maintain high performance for all departmental standards including safety, timeliness, quality/accuracy, security, and productivity.
  • Work schedule is 8 hours, 1st shift and/or possible modified 1st shift to support late afternoon shipments.
  • Overtime work may be needed periodically.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive a culture of "Do It Safe, Do It Right the First Time" with daily actions and words.
  • Be alert to and avoid unsafe behaviors and conditions or other hazards.
  • Report any observed hazards to the supervisor.
  • Strictly adhere to all safety policies including HAZWOPER, Electronic Communications Policy (ECP), and LOTO policies.
  • Participate in monthly safety meetings and promote a safe work environment.
  • Safely and efficiently operate assigned tasks to meet day-to-day productivity goals.
  • Follow all work processes and instructions relevant to specific assignments.
  • Prepare cylinders for shipments including removing old labels, painting, inspecting/checking, wrapping valve labeling with appropriate information per requirements, barcode scanning, and loading on pallets.
  • Perform shipping and receiving related ERP transactions.
  • Ensure accuracy of all transactions within ERP for operational efficiency.
  • Prepare shipping paperwork according to policy and D.O.T regulations.
  • Contact common carriers and company locations to coordinate delivery and pickup of cylinders and other materials.
  • Ship, receive, and deliver supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Operate a forklift to load and unload carrier trucks.
  • Load and unload sea containers including appropriate blocking and bracing in line with IMO, IMDG, and customs requirements.
  • Maintain inventory control records.
  • Conduct inventory cycle counts.
  • Escalate any potential safety or quality concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
  • Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
  • Comply with all company safety policies and OSHA and MSDS standards.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3 years of relevant industry experience in logistics operations (shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, inventory management).
  • Must be certified to drive a forklift.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to follow all work instructions and safety protocols.
  • Ability to understand the properties and hazards associated with chemicals and compressed gases.
  • Experience in filing IMO, AES, and ISF.
  • Must be a quick learner with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to a variety of challenges.
  • Must be organized with attention to detail and ability to follow directions to meet deadlines.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and capable of regular interaction with all support departments.
  • Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Computer literate with Google Docs, Sheets, & Slides.
  • Knowledge of 49 CFR, 15 CFR, DOT, IATA, and IMDG regulations.

Physical Qualifications:

  • Must be able to move around a large warehouse for 8 or more hours in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to climb ladders.
  • Significant manual dexterity for keying in data for long periods of time.
  • Ability to medically pass a respiratory test and physical test in order to wear a full-face respirator as required.
