Logistics Support Specialist
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Support Specialist to support warehouse and logistics operations involving aerial aircraft targets (BQM-167, MQM-178 and MQM-185B) and associated equipment and material. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in shipping, receiving, inventory management, and compliance with regulatory and quality standards. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate in fast-paced environments.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage shipping, receiving, and inventory control of Government Furnished Equipment and Material , ensuring accuracy and traceability
- Perform routine inventory audits and stock checks to ensure proper stock levels and reduce discrepancies.
- Execute purchasing processes, including ordering, tracking, and verifying incoming materials.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and material handling equipment to support warehouse operations and asset movement
- Coordinate deployment logistics, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of mission-critical assets.
- Prepare and process shipments in accordance with military, hazardous material (HAZMAT), and carrier requirements
- Utilize inventory management systems (Maximo) to track materials and transactions.
- Safely manage, store, and account for sensitive and controlled materials, including ammunition, in compliance with DoD regulations.
- Prepare shipments by ensuring proper packaging, labeling, and documentation.
- Manage and maintain the Calibration of government tools and equipment with associated records and documentation
- Assemble pallets and secure loads for transport
- Keep warehouse area clean, organized and free of safety hazards
- Process returns and restock merchandise
- Monitor inventory levels and notify supervisors of shortages
- Assist with warehouse layout optimization and product slotting
- Store inventory in designated warehouse locations following organizational procedures
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments
- Prepare inventory documentation and coordinate shipment of surplus equipment to DRMO or DLA for turn-in
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree with 1+ years of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or supply chain support OR an additional 8 years of experience in lieu of degree
- Experience with shipping, receiving, inventory management, and recordkeeping
- Ability to lift and move materials and operate in a warehouse environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one
- Forklift certification or prior experience operating material handling equipment
- Experience with ERP systems (Maximo)
- Knowledge of HAZMAT handling, packaging, and shipping requirements
