Akima Mission Optimization (AMO) is hiring an Inventory Logistician to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Corporate Operations Support Services contract in Dahlgren, VA. NSWC Dahlgren requires on-site logistics support for day-to-day operations of the Corporate Operations Department in the areas of general equipment and operating materials & supplies (OM&S), distribution, disposal and reverse logistics. Candidate will ensure that all logistics functions meet operational, audit, and compliance requirements.


Responsibilities


+ Full time on-site logistics support who independently evaluates logistics requirements to coordinate and oversee supply movement operations.

+ Exercise discretion and judgement to determine appropriate actions to resolve discrepancies or operational challenges.

+ Support planning, process development, and compliance monitoring that affects the accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of logistics operations.

+ Manages day‑to‑day logistics program operations including shipping, receiving, material movement, and property accountability in alignment with government and organizational requirements.

+ Develops operational plans for supply movement, inventory cycles, distribution workflows, and material controls, ensuring resources and timelines support mission execution.

+ Identifies risks or discrepancies and independently determines corrective actions to maintain compliance and logistical accuracy.

+ Coordinates with government stakeholders, vendors, carriers, and transportation providers to ensure timely delivery and movement of materials.

+ Serves as the primary point of contact to provide guidance on material movement planning, property requirements, and compliance standards.

+ Oversee the receipt, inspection, documentation, and tracking of materials and equipment to ensure proper accountability and chain of custody.

+ Validate documentation, resolving discrepancies through coordination with procurement, vendors, and property managers.

+ Ensures inventory, shipping, receiving, and property data within N‑ERP and associated systems is accurate, complete, and compliant with audit requirements.

+ Plans and oversee physical inventories, spot checks, and reconciliation activities to maintain audit readiness and accurate reporting.

+ Develop performance and operational reports to inform leadership of supply chain trends, material flow efficiency, and operational risks.

+ Perform data analysis to identify workflow bottlenecks, shipping delays, or recurring inventory discrepancies and recommend process improvements.

+ Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports summarizing logistics program performance and compliance status.


Qualifications


+ Must hold and maintain a DoD-issued Secret security clearance.

+ Associate's degree, or three (3) years or more of related work experience.

+ Ability to work independently across multiple online systems to resolve issues and respond to customer inquiries.

+ Must be a detail-oriented and customer-focused team member.

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).

+ Working experience utilizing N-ERP or similar enterprise resource planning systems for inventory and material tracking.
