Description

Position Summary

DecisionPoint Technologies is seeking a Logistics Master Planner to own the end-to-end integrity of demand, supply, and inventory planning across the enterprise. This role serves as the link between commercial commitments and operational execution by translating market signals into actionable supply plans that maintain service levels, optimize working capital, and support business growth.

This is a highly visible individual contributor role requiring strong analytical capability, systems thinking, and cross-functional influence.

Essential Responsibilities

Demand Planning & Forecasting

  • Build and maintain demand forecasts using sales, marketing, and customer data across SKUs and channels.
  • Lead monthly S&OP/IBP demand reviews and facilitate consensus between commercial and supply teams.
  • Analyze forecast bias and implement initiatives to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Translate promotions, customer programs, and product launches into actionable demand plans.

Supply Planning & Capacity Management

  • Develop and maintain master production and supply schedules aligned with demand and capacity constraints.
  • Monitor supplier and manufacturing capacity and recommend mitigation strategies for constraints.
  • Coordinate supply exceptions including shortages, overstock situations, and supplier disruptions.
  • Own rough-cut capacity planning and provide scenario-based recommendations to leadership.

Inventory Planning & Working Capital Management

  • Establish inventory targets including safety stock, reorder points, and cycle stock levels.
  • Monitor inventory health metrics including inventory turns, days on hand, fill rates, and excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Drive excess and obsolete inventory reduction initiatives.
  • Balance working capital efficiency with service level commitments.

Planning Systems & Process Improvement

  • Serve as the functional owner of planning systems and maintain data integrity.
  • Identify process gaps and develop standard operating procedures.
  • Partner with IT on planning system enhancements and implementations.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly planning performance reports with variance analysis and risk assessments.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner closely with:

  • Sales and Commercial teams
  • Operations and Manufacturing
  • Procurement
  • Finance
  • Customer Service and Logistics

Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Five (5) or more years of supply chain planning experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or CPG environment.
  • Demonstrated ownership of S&OP or IBP processes.
  • Advanced experience with ERP or APS planning systems such as SAP, Oracle, Kinaxis, o9, Blue Yonder, or similar.
  • Strong analytical and forecasting skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and data modeling capabilities.
  • Ability to communicate complex information effectively to multiple levels of the organization.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting mergers, rapid growth, network redesign, or system transitions.
  • Multi-site or multi-echelon supply chain experience.
  • Knowledge of financial planning integration and working capital management.
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification or active pursuit of certification.
  • Ability to operate effectively in changing environments and make decisions with imperfect information.

Success Measures

Performance in this role will be measured by:

  • Improvement in forecast accuracy.
  • Improved inventory turns without negatively impacting fill rates.
  • Reduction in excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Timely and effective S&OP cycles with decision-ready outputs.
  • Proactive identification and communication of supply risks.

Work Environment
