The primary purpose of this position is to utilize logistics expertise to develop implement direct and/or function as part of a logistics management operation for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center in support of acquisition phases of assigned systems programs or major equipment.

Duties

Help Serve as a technical expert responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating total cradle to grave logistics management to support a complex major weapons system from concept through field deployment. Develops, refines, analyzes, and issues logistics policies for assigned programs applicable to one or more DoD components. Exercises full program responsibility for automated logistics systems. Serves as a senior command representative and spokesperson in communicating program matters. Duties may also include FOREIGN MILITARY SALES FMSAs an FMS technical expert responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating total cradle to grave logistics management to support a complex major weapons system from the concept through field deployment. Provides expert advice for complex FMS case management issues and ascertains that overall program performance is achieved as projected.

Experience Requirements

Help Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management OPM Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Administrative and Management Positions SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE Applicants must have at least 1 year 52 weeks of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02 equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems Specialized experience includes independently directing, developing, implementing, and/or coordinating total cradle to grave logistics management while functioning as part of a logistics management operation in support of assigned systems programs or major equipment NOTE Due to the use of 120-day rosters this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES KSAs Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or competencies in the following areas Knowledge of the policies, practices, regulations, and laws concerning the acquisition and logistics management processes and initiatives Knowledge of the application of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative assessment methods Knowledge of the mission roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the DoD Air Force and organization that govern interface with and/or influence the logistics management program processes Skill in staff level planning, organizing, and overseeing critical aspects of development, production, and support of systems, subsystems, or equipment Ability to integrate, analyze, and manage a variety of logistics functions in support of research, development, production, and support of a system, subsystem, or equipment Ability to communicate both orally and in writing clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy
