Duties

Help

The primary purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive supply operations support for the Force Support Squadron.

  • Serves as the focal point for all squadron property and equipment management matters to ensure properly control and disposal processes are consistent throughout the squadron and to maintain single point accountability for excess and surplus property. Provides logistics guidance, training and assistance for squadron activities receiving appropriated fund (APF), nonappropriated fund (NAF), and Defense Reutilization and Marketing Offices (DRMO) support.
  • Acts as the Vehicle Control Officer (VCO) and focal point for vehicle support requirements. Establish vehicle operating instructions for use, safety, control, inspection, and maintenance. Prepares budget for new vehicles, manages vehicle request, tracks usage, and ensures compliance with vehicle operation, reporting, and safety requirements. Ensures records and mandatory reports are updated in the Vehicle Management System for APF and NAF.
  • Maintain single point accountability for assigned excess and surplus property. Process all off base shipments and transfer of NAF property. Requisitions APF, NAF and DoD property, orders, receives, and issues property. Review supporting documents, and reference materials to determine if priority supply action is required, the status of the action, changes in requirements, and unexpected requirements. Expedites delivery of urgently required items through correspondence and/or telephone calls to inventory control points, manufacturers, or other organizations.
  • Provides oversight for and gives technical advice to the community private organizations (POs). Reviews organizational documents, such as PO request for authorization to operate on the installation, the approved constitution, and by-laws and authorizes establishment of the POs. Approves and monitors PO request for fund raising activities. Monitors and ensure quarterly/annual POs and financial reviews and/or audits are performed as required.
  • Acts as back-up to the Central Cashier during his/her absence, performing central cashier duties. Provides support to the VAT relief payment program. Examines, prepares, and validates VAT paperwork. Types VAT checks and issues to customers.
  • Loads, unloads, and receives incoming shipments. Checks receiving vouchers to ensure quality and quantity of items received. Performs mail runs and transports equipment as needed to support special events or for disposal. Assists in end of month inventories of stock by counting items in storage areas. Ensures supplies and equipment are safeguarded. May be required to observe physical fixed and resale inventories as required. Performs other duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:

  • Progressively responsible experience in logistics which provided knowledge of the rules, regulations, procedures, and program requirements of the local logistics organization and the organization serviced.
  • Knowledge of supply inventory and accountability procedures and regulations is preferred.
  • Experience must have been sufficiently demanding to demonstrate the ability to apply basic analytical methods and techniques to resolve and/or deviation from normal supply management procedures or program requirements.
  • Experience in DoD vehicle and Property Management programs, is preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of general office automation software, practices, and procedures. Ability to apply these knowledge and skills in performance of general office support work.
  • Knowledge of host country and military community laws, procedures and miscellaneous provisions governing the establishment and activity of private organization is preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to lift and carry supplies, materials, or equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
