Role at a Glance
- Purpose: Coordinate on-the-road equipment breakdowns, manage vendor repairs and towing, arrange rentals, and ensure drivers receive clear, timely support.
- Impact: Keep freight moving, control repair quality and costs, and document each incident for maintenance follow-up.
Core Responsibilities
- Driver Support & Communication
- Answer maintenance-related calls from drivers.
- Explain breakdown procedures and next steps.
- Guide drivers through resolution efficiently.
- Vendor & Equipment Coordination
- Schedule repairs with the closest suitable facility.
- Arrange towing when necessary.
- Secure rental equipment to avoid delays.
- Match repair needs to the right vendor capabilities.
- Administrative & Financial Oversight
- Audit vendor invoices for accuracy.
- Update warranty fields in applicable systems.
- Maintain precise records of incidents and repairs.
- Secondary Responsibilities
- Maintain reliable attendance.
- Participate in meetings, training, and education.
- Assist with training peers and provide backup coverage.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2 years of administrative experience preferred.
Schedule & Compensation
- Hours: Tuesday–Saturday, 1:30 PM–10:00 PM
- Base Pay: $18/hour plus shift differential
Work Setting
Positioned within an active industrial manufacturing and distribution center featuring moderate to high noise, temperature variability, and material handling equipment in operation. The role may involve extended periods of standing or walking on concrete and requires PPE such as safety glasses and steel-toed boots. Work is fast-paced, time- and safety-sensitive, and may include varied shift schedules to support production and distribution needs.
