Job Description
The Logistics Coordinator supports transportation operations in a fast-paced supply chain environment by managing shipment execution, maintaining accurate transportation data, and delivering exceptional service to customers and carriers. This role suits a detail-oriented, customer-focused professional who thrives under deadlines, communicates clearly, and consistently delivers accurate, high-quality work.
Responsibilities
  • Provide timely shipment status updates and transportation-related information to customers and carriers.
  • Create, update, and manage transportation orders within company systems to support daily operations.
  • Activate shipments and ensure the timely execution of freight movements from pickup through delivery.
  • Build, assign, and manage loads while maintaining complete and accurate data in all systems.
  • Schedule pickup and delivery appointments with customers, warehouses, and carriers to meet service expectations.
  • Track and trace shipments to ensure on-time performance and proactively address service issues or delays.
  • Enter transportation events and shipment updates into operating systems to maintain real-time visibility.
  • Process and complete freight invoicing activities in accordance with company procedures and timelines.
  • Monitor assigned task boards, work queues, and email accounts to respond promptly to customer and carrier inquiries.
  • Follow through on all customer and carrier requests to ensure issues are resolved and satisfaction is maintained.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, and carriers to resolve operational issues and provide clear updates.
  • Escalate complex questions, service disruptions, or operational issues according to established procedures.
  • Validate shipment and load information to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with requirements.
  • Maintain transportation records and document events in alignment with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Utilize operational systems to accurately capture shipment activity, status updates, and exception handling.
  • Follow defined escalation procedures and training guidelines when handling exceptions or service concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and operational standards in all transportation activities.
  • Manage multiple tasks and priorities in a high-volume environment while maintaining service levels and accuracy.
Essential Skills
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of customer service experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data entry and documentation.
  • Ability to learn new technology and transportation management systems.
  • Strong customer support skills with a focus on responsiveness and follow-through.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for interaction with customers, carriers, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in data entry and administrative support tasks.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and/or weekends, as required for certain roles.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Customer service experience in a call center, transportation, logistics, or similar high-volume environment.
  • Experience working in supply chain, logistics, transportation, or operations environments.
  • Demonstrated prioritization, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with logistics operations, shipment tracking, and load management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to follow established escalation procedures.
  • Comfort working with operational systems and transportation management tools.
  • Interest in long-term role development, with a commitment to remain in the position for at least one year before pursuing other internal opportunities.

Work Environment
This role operates in a professional office environment that supports both onsite and remote work. The position requires frequent interaction with customers, carriers, and internal stakeholders and involves managing a high volume of transactions and communications while maintaining service levels and operational accuracy. During the first three weeks, training takes place onsite from Monday through Friday, 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM. For the following two weeks, employees transition to their assigned schedules while continuing to work onsite with leadership support and hands-on floor experience. After completing the five-week training period, employees move to a primarily remote work arrangement, with a requirement to report to the office one day per month or as needed. Open remote schedule options include coverage across Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday, with shifts such as 8:00 AM-5:30 PM, 4:00 PM-10:30 PM, and 4:00 PM-12:30 AM, depending on assignment. Employees have the option to work in the office at any time in addition to their scheduled onsite days. This is a Contract position based out of Eden Prairie, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr.
