Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and Point Comfort, Texas.
LOGISTICS ANALYST
Position Objective: Inquire about contract freight rates, review and process freight requests in FIS, track rail shipments, follow up on delays, and submit service logs.
Review and process freight abnormal invoices in a timely manner. Provide system and analytical support for logistics, distribution, and transportation initiatives. Assist with various departmental functions as needed.
Major Areas of Accountability
Inquire with Class 1 rail carriers for freight rates to new potential customers, providing the business units with data for analysis. Review and process rail freight requests FIS and ensure timely setup for shipments. Evaluate contract and spot rate proposals for rail lanes to optimize transportation costs for contract renewal.
Investigate carrier abnormal invoices and monitor accounts to maintain strong carrier relationships and company credit. Track and trace rail shipments, resolve delays, and submit service shutdown logs to ensure operational efficiency. Submit and track freight claims with railroad companies to reduce potential financial losses.
Provide support and backup to the rail fleet team during absences, ensuring continuity of operations. Assist with special projects and departmental initiatives as assigned by management.
