Position Title: Primary Care Physician
Location: Abilene, TX 79602
Assignment duration: 3-month contract with possible extensions for a long-term role
EMR: Cerner
Expected Start Date: 06/29/2026 (flexible)
Pay Rate: $140/hr.
Weekend Pay Rate: $150/hr.
Every 6th Weekday on-call rate: $350/hr.
On-call Weekend Pay: $740/hr.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM. Includes a rotating on-call schedule with one weekday on-call shift and one weekend on-call assignment approximately every 6 weeks. Most on-call responsibilities (approximately 95%) are handled remotely by phone, with infrequent on-site visits required.
Weekend and holiday on-call coverage includes infirmary rounds and evaluation of acute illnesses or injuries within a 16-bed acute and chronic care unit.
Qualifications
Current and unrestricted Physician license in Texas.
Active DEA registration and NPI number.
Current BLS/CPR certification.
Experience evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients across a variety of acute and chronic conditions is preferred
Experience working with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) preferred
Clean professional record with no history of Board sanctions or disciplinary actions.
