Join Our Team as a Locum - Physician - Oncology in Greenville, SC!
Are you a dedicated oncology physician seeking a rewarding temporary opportunity in the heart of South Carolina? We are looking for a skilled Locum Physician to provide exceptional care at a top-tier Free-Standing Cancer Center. This position offers a unique chance to make a meaningful impact on adult and geriatric patient populations while enjoying a flexible schedule and comprehensive support.
What you'll do:
- Provide outpatient and inpatient oncology services, including management of benign hematology and malignant cases
- Participate in tumor board meetings and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
- Prescribe and oversee chemotherapy treatments with Nurse Oncologist support
- Order diagnostics, imaging, and coordinate patient care efficiently
- Cover a patient volume of approximately 25 outpatient and 20 inpatient cases daily
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Active SC medical license or ability to obtain one
- Proven experience in Oncology, with strong knowledge of hematology and oncology protocols
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Competency in EMR systems, specifically EPIC
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with bone marrow transplants and blood bank management
- Prior participation in tumor board discussions
- Additional certifications in Oncology or Hematology
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in Oncology or Hematology
- Previous locum or hospital-based practice experience is a plus
Other Requirements:
- Credentialing estimated at 60 days, so timely application is encouraged
- Ability to travel to Greenville, SC, with reimbursement for flight, hotel, rental car, and mileage
- Willingness to work flexible call schedule post-permanent placement (not during locum period)
