Locum - Physician - OB Hospitalist Waverly, IA

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician to fulfill the role of OB Hospitalist on a locum basis. This vital position offers the opportunity to provide exceptional obstetric and gynecologic care in a community-focused hospital environment. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing OB triage, unassigned gynecologic emergencies, and deliveries, including attending approximately 1-4 hospital births daily. You will work within the MHAS model, which involves clinic and call responsibilities, utilizing a TBD EMR system. The hospital handles around 200 deliveries annually, with an average of 13+ patient encounters daily. The NICU Level is 1, and board-eligible physicians are accepted. While MFM support is not available on-site, GYN coverage is provided by hospitalists.

Candidates must possess the necessary skills to effectively manage obstetric and gynecologic cases, including proficiency in OB triage, emergency response, and deliveries. A strong focus on patient safety, excellent communication, and teamwork are essential. Certification in OB/GYN and valid medical licensure are required.

Preferred qualifications include prior hospitalist experience, familiarity with clinic and call models, and the ability to handle a diverse range of OB/GYN cases. Additional skills such as experience with EMR systems and NICU support are advantageous but not mandatory.

Candidates should have completed a relevant medical degree, be Board Eligible or Board Certified in OB/GYN, and hold current licensure. The position requires availability starting from December 31, 2025. Flexibility, professionalism, and a commitment to patient-centered care are key.
