Locum - Physician - OB Hospitalist Christiansburg, VA

We are seeking dedicated physicians committed to delivering exceptional emergency GYN services and supporting a high-volume delivery unit. Required Skills:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Valid medical license in Virginia or eligible for licensure
- Board certification or eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Proven experience in obstetric hospitalist roles or emergency gynecology
- Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills
- Strong communication abilities and teamwork orientation
- Ability to work independently and adapt to evolving clinical situations
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with Level 3B NICU settings
- Familiarity with emergent GYN procedures
- Knowledge of hospital delivery workflows
- Prior locum or per diem coverage experience in obstetrics
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Completion of OB-GYN residency training
- Minimum of 2 years of obstetric hospitalist experience
- Experience managing high-volume delivery units (~72 deliveries/month)
Other Requirements:
- Start date: February 1, 2026
- Hourly pay rate: $214.50
- Availability for flexible scheduling
- Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred
- Willingness to provide emergent GYN care and support backup hospitalists as needed
- Must be able to obtain VA medical licensure and comply with hospital credentialing requirements
