Job Description:
Mary Rutan Hospital is urgently seeking a locum OB/GYN Physician to cover upcoming open dates with potential for sporadic coverage thereafter.
Practice Setting: Clinic/Hospital - On Call - OB/GYN
Dates Needed: Thursday, 06/25/2026 - Friday, 06/26/2026, with potential additional coverage
Schedule: 7 am on 6/25/26 thru 7 am on 6/26/26
Requirements:
- Must reside within a 30-minute radius while on call
- Deliver approximately one baby per day (around 360 births per year)
- 1:4 call rotation (weekday and weekend)
- EMR: Meditech Expanse
- Support Staff: Nursing staff and APPs (though no APP coverage required from the locum)
- Facility: 45 staffed beds, plus an ED with 20 rooms
Procedures & Responsibilities:
- Manage low and occasional high risk pregnancies
- Perform and interpret fetal heart rate monitoring (NST & FSE)
- Conduct OB ultrasounds, including Level I/Screening and Level II/Targeted
- Routine vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, breech and multiple births, and management of operative deliveries
- Repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations as needed
- Responsible for decision-making regarding C-sections
- No VBACs
Qualifications:
- Board Certified or truly board eligible
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
