Are you a Board Certified Neonatologist seeking a dynamic locum opportunity? We are currently recruiting for a qualified Neonatology physician to cover shifts at UMH Sparrow Lansing Main Hospital. This position offers a competitive hourly pay rate and comprehensive benefits.
Job Description:
- Coverage Period: July 1, 2026 - July 1, 2027
- Practice Setting: Level III NICU and Special Care Nursery
- Shift Details: Day Shift (10 hours), Night Shift with Home Call (14 hours; provider must arrive within 30 minutes if called in)
- Patient Demographics: Neonatal patients, NICU newborn population
- Trauma Designation: Level I Trauma Center
- EMR System: EPIC
- Bed Capacity: 47 beds (33 licensed NICU beds, 12 Special Care Nursery beds, 2 bassinets)
- Patient Volume: Approximately 3 admissions per day, with an average daily census of 31 patients
- Responsibilities:
- Attend high-risk deliveries and C-sections
- Ventilation management: BiPAP/CPAP, Oscillator ventilator, Nitric Oxide (iNO)
- Perform neonatal procedures: Chest tube, Central line, Arterial line, PA catheter insertion, Umbilical Venous and Artery Catheterization, PICC placement
- Manage emergency situations; participate in neonatal resuscitation
- Supervision of Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (if applicable)
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
Support Staff:
- NICU Nurse Manager, Operations Manager
- Physical and Occupational Therapists, Dieticians
- Nursing Staff, Child Life Specialists, Neonatal Nurse Practitioners
Credentialing:
- Approximately 120+ days needed for credentialing
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hourly Pay Rate: $312.00/hr
- Malpractice Coverage: Included in rates
- Orientation Stipend: Half of hourly rate
- Holiday Rate: 1.5X hourly pay
- Night and Weekend Call: Eligible for additional compensation
- Call Back Pay: Provided as applicable
