Position Overview:
We are recruiting a skilled Locum Interventional Cardiologist to support Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville, VA, from May 1 to June 30, 2026. This role involves inpatient and call coverage, working alongside a team of experienced cardiologists to deliver comprehensive cardiovascular services. You will perform essential procedures including angioplasties, coronary interventions, heart catheterizations, and carotid stenting, ensuring seamless patient care during a pivotal period of staffing transition. This is an excellent opportunity to utilize your expertise in a facility known for its commitment to excellence and patient safety.
Required Skills:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Board certification or eligibility in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology
- Valid medical license to practice in Virginia
- Proven experience in performing coronary angioplasty, PCI, and related procedures
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR system
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience in a hospital-based interventional cardiology setting
- Experience with trauma or emergency cardiovascular procedures
- Additional certifications such as ACLS or BLS
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years post-training in interventional cardiology
- Prior locum or temporary staffing experience preferred but not required
- Demonstrated ability to handle high-volume cardiovascular procedures
Other Requirements:
- Emergency or temporary privileges approval process
- Ability to work scheduled weekdays and on-call shifts
- Reimbursement for travel, lodging, and rental car expenses when applicable
