Locum - Physician Assistant (PA) - Surgery - Cardiothoracic Springfield, OH

Compensation for this role is highly competitive, with hourly pay rates to be determined, along with weekly pay via direct deposit. Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Active Physician Assistant licensure in Ohio
- Prior experience in cardiothoracic or vascular surgery preferred; critical care experience also acceptable
- Proficiency in EMR systems (Epic experience preferred)
- Ability to assist in surgical procedures, interpret tests, and coordinate patient care
- Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills
- Willingness to participate in OR call and ICU/CVICU on-call duties
- No new graduates; minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Experience working with adult and geriatric patient populations
- Surgical assisting experience, including vein harvesting and vascular tissue retrieval
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Certified Physician Assistant with a minimum of 2 years of surgical or critical care experience
- Prior employment in a hospital setting with a busy cardiovascular service line
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to commit to scheduled coverage dates from April through July 2026
- Credentialing process may take 60-90 days; temporary privileges available in roughly 45 days
- Must have or be willing to obtain Ohio state licensure and relevant certifications
- Travel and licensure reimbursements provided as applicable
