Join Our Team as a Locum Physician Assistant (PA) Neurology in Lima, OH

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proficient Locum PA to support Mercy Health St. Ritas in Lima, Ohio, beginning July 1, 2026. In this position, you will provide PRN coverage during 7 am to 7 pm shifts, supporting a mainly adult patient population in an inpatient hospital environment. You will work alongside a dedicated team of physicians and APPs, managing an average of 10-15 hospital-based patients daily. Your responsibilities include interpreting radiologic exams (unofficially), participating in code stroke response teams, and contributing to high-quality patient outcomes. The hospital is equipped with on-site lab and X-ray facilities, and utilizes Epic Carepath EMR, facilitating efficient documentation and workflows.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Certified Physician Assistant with valid state licensure
- Proven experience in neurology or inpatient hospital settings
- Ability to interpret radiologic exams (informal)
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Flexibility to work PRN during scheduled hours
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience with stroke or trauma care
- Familiarity with Epic Carepath EMR system
- Additional certifications in advanced neurology care
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or equivalent
- At least 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in neurology or hospital-based practice
Other Requirements:
- Pending licensure and background check (credentialing approximately 60 days)
- Willingness to participate in all hospital protocols, including emergency response teams
- Travel and licensure-related reimbursements available where applicable
