About the role:
The Barry Callebaut local truck driver will be responsible for the safe and secure transportation of all Barry Callebaut goods throughout the Barry Callebaut network.
Working hours: Monday to Friday.
Key responsibilities include:
- Safety compliance- Following all safety regulations related to truck operation, including all regulations concerning local, state, and federal regulations
- Driving-To safely transport Barry Callebaut materials from within your working state. This would include traveling to and from any Barry Callebaut manufacturing sites, warehouses, and vendors in a professional manner
- Ensure accuracy of all Bill Of Ladings, by ensuring that products are of and for Barry Callebaut and the accuracy of same, and pick-up and delivery as instructed.
- Conduct Pre/Post trip inspections- They are mandatory for commercial motor vehicle drivers, requiring them to check key components like service brakes, parking brakes, steering mechanism, lights, tires, horns, windshield wipers, rear-vision mirrors, and coupling devices before operating the vehicle, ensuring the vehicle is in safe working order
- Route Planning- Familiarizing oneself with routes, navigating through different areas, and adjusting to changing traffic conditions
- Documentation-Maintaining accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and other necessary paperwork
- Customer service-Interacting with customers at delivery points, ensuring timely deliveries and the utmost professionalism
- FMCSA HOS- Driver must know, understand, and practice all Hours of Service rules and regulations for North America
About you:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Truck Driver.
- Familiarity with the Bethlehem, PA area.
- Availability to work flexible schedules.
- Understanding North American Traffic laws/DOT regulations.
- CDL Class A -Clean driving record, with no more than 2 moving violations within the last 2 years.
- Proficient in using computers, EOD systems, and smartphones.
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
- Proactive and hands-on approach to problem-solving and execution.
- Effective time management and prioritization skills.
