The duties include but are not limited to Performs general accounting functions including but not limited to preparing monthly bank reconciliations various daily cash reports processing of stop payment orders to the bank as required data entry and assisting in preparing journal entries and reports. Assists local school bookkeepers with accounting issues. Logs in and reviews local schools monthly reports. Monitors local school monthly instructional support activity. Performs written and telephone contact related to accounting functions. Performs routine office procedures as needed opening mail filing answer telephone and other similar routine office functions. Assuming other reasonable and equitable position-related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor. Lift carry and transport file boxes. OVERTIME MAY BE REQUIRED.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be a high school graduate from a regionally accredited school or have GED equivalent. Must demonstrate the ability to work with minimum supervision and to follow instructions. Must have knowledge of computer programs i.e. Microsoft Excel Microsoft Word or equivalent word processing and accounting software. Must have the ability to multi-task within the office and assists with additional duties should the need arise. Ability to have attention to detail skills work independently and accept interruptions without frustration. Must have the ability to work well with others to be confidential and to organize and maintain accurate records. Must have knowledge of how to operate standard office equipment including a ten-key calculator. Must have the ability to perform daily work involving written or numerical data and to make arithmetic calculations. Must be able to lift and carry at least 25 pounds.

GIVEN THE SPECIALIZED TRAINING AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION NO REQUESTS FOR TRANSFER WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR A PERIOD OF THREE YEARS.

Applicants selected for classified positions must undergo or have undergone an ABIFBI criminal history background check fingerprinting administered through sites selected and approved by the MCPSS and State of Alabama Education Department and be declared suitable and fit to teach under state law. Applicants selected must also pass a drug-screening test via forms provided by Human Resources during the selection process.
