Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager – Emergency Department to provide 24-hour operational and clinical leadership for the Emergency Department. The Nurse Manager will oversee staffing, patient care, quality improvement, employee development, and departmental operations while ensuring the delivery of exceptional emergency care in a collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Nursing (Required – Must be completed)
  • Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Minimum 5 years of Emergency Department nursing management and/or supervisory experience
  • Minimum 1 year of EPIC experience
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage staffing, departmental operations, quality initiatives, and performance improvement
  • Weekend and holiday coverage as needed

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day clinical and operational management of the Emergency Department.
  • Develop staffing schedules and ensure appropriate unit coverage.
  • Monitor departmental performance, productivity, patient satisfaction, and quality metrics.
  • Oversee staff orientation, education, coaching, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership to maintain clinical standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Investigate and resolve patient, physician, and staff concerns.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and support evidence-based practice.
  • Conduct staff meetings and foster a collaborative, patient-centered culture.
  • Ensure a safe, efficient, and high-quality care environment for patients and staff.
