Loan Officer/Loan Officer Assistant

DESCRIPTION
Our client is seeking motivated and customer-focused Loan Officers and Loan Officer Assistants to join their growing mortgage lending team. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy building relationships, and are passionate about helping clients achieve their homeownership and financial goals.

Key Responsibilities

Loan Officer Responsibilities

  • Originate residential mortgage loans by contacting prospective clients and developing referral relationships
  • Meet with clients to discuss mortgage loan products and financing options
  • Analyze applicant financial information including income, assets, debts, credit, and collateral
  • Recommend loan products that best align with client needs and financial goals
  • Develop and maintain relationships with realtors, builders, financial advisors, and other referral partners
  • Conduct business development and networking activities both inside and outside the office
  • Maintain current knowledge of mortgage products, market trends, compliance requirements, and lending guidelines
  • Market and promote mortgage products through networking, relationship building, and community outreach
  • Coordinate with processors, underwriters, and support staff to facilitate timely loan closings
  • Ensure compliance with all mortgage lending laws, regulations, and company policies
  • Complete all required continuing education and licensing requirements

Loan Officer Assistant Responsibilities

  • Support Loan Officers throughout the loan origination process
  • Assist with scheduling client consultations, applications, and follow-up appointments
  • Communicate loan status updates with borrowers, processors, and referral partners
  • Collect and organize documentation required for loan applications
  • Assist with database management and loan file maintenance
  • Coordinate communication between clients and internal support teams
  • Provide exceptional customer service and administrative support
REQUIREMENTS
  • Active mortgage loan originator license in the state of residence required for Loan Officer roles
  • Ability to obtain and maintain applicable licensing and compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with mortgage lending processes, regulations, and compliance standards
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional customer service and relationship-building abilities
  • Ability to analyze financial information and explain complex loan products clearly
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and mortgage-related software systems
  • Established referral network within the mortgage or real estate industry preferred
  • Ability to pass background and compliance screenings

Preferred Experience

  • Mortgage lending, banking, financial services, or sales experience
  • Experience working with referral partners such as realtors, builders, and financial advisors
  • Knowledge of conventional, FHA, VA, and jumbo loan products
